Chick feathers permanent colour?

I have 1/4 d'uccle, 3/4 ameraucana chicks.

Both parents were completely black

All three chicks came out with white and black fuzz, (one has a beak beak, one pink, the last pink rimmed) I figure the 'real' feathers would grow in black.

Now they're a week old and sprouting WHITE 'grown up' feathers out of their wings! Is this the d'uccle coming out? Will they change colour again as they grow?

it really depends. i had a pure black chicks from batch. turned out looking like a plymouth rock and other chooks like that. though she was a mutt. so i am not sure about the d'uccle and ameraucana genetics though... but often the colours do change.

What about rate of feathering?

Out of the three chicks the youngest is feathering much more that the other two. The first one has the least feathers, I thought it would be the other way around
