2 wk old Chicks are not interested in Chick feed(From start to finish). Momma hen isn't interested in showing them, no matter how often I offer it. But I have it by their sleeping area, & in another area.

Do you mean Start and Grow? Is it fresh?
Since Momma is not interested in showing the chicks the feed, what is she showing them? I would assume they are eating something.

It's the same thing. From a Local Feed Store. Called Start to Finish Crumbles. Yes it is fresh. Yes she is showing them the scratch, I throw for the others, & they eat mealworms, occasionally, worms I toss them all, grubs. They look great. They are growing. Sav-a-chik electrolytes added to the waterers. Always fresh. This is the first time I've seen a Momma not interested in crumbles for the babies. We've had chickens for many yrs.

Oh, I see!
Hmmm...sounds like she's found them something tastier than chick starter(?) to call them to - scratch, mealworms and grubs.

I get your point. But I don't give them very much. When I noticed she wasn't showing the feed to them, I threw a little mint from my flower bed, & boiled eggs, & some veggies. Not to be directed toward babies. But I feel better knowing they are not shy about getting theirs! Lol! I try & will keep trying to pull them aside to encourage their own feed(so they will get the correct nutrition required for future layers). I usually have a Momma & chicks seperated as they grow a bit more, & to get what they need(& to keep laying hens from eating the chicks food). But since we have 9 wk old chicks, they can come & go in lil pen, as well as large coop & run. They're all doing so great. Thank you for your help.
