When do you start feeding chicks chicken food? I have 10 chicks which were born on July 23.. They have been eating chick food. I have to buy more food tommorow and was wondering what to buy! Thanks

I actually feed mine chick feed for their whole life. I just provide oyster shell on the side.

However, if you want to use layer, you can switch them onto layer at 18 to 20 weeks of age.

Growing chickens need a feed with a protein content of at least 18% and the maximum amount of calcium needs to be under 2%. Anything that meets those parameters will be just fine. Layer feed is for actively laying birds only.
