A one day old chick has fallen out of the nest box. Should I pick it up and return it to it's mother? Will the mother accept it? Do I just provide food/water on the ground? It was chirping non stop. I put a heat lamp in there, but I know the mom will get hot before long. But it will be in the low 40's tonight. Should I bring it inside? I don't really want to raise a singleton.
