chick folows me around

I have two partridge rock teenagers that as chicks I kept in my living room in a large clear Rubbermaid container. Well, I would reach reach in whenever I was sitting on the couch next to them and I would occasionally give them bits of bread or cereal...so they started perching on the edge of the container when I sat down and would "beg" treats from me...HA! I loved it! But, alas...I did have to start putting a cover on. (Didn't want them jumping out when I was right there)

the screen is working and i just took him for a walk down my road and he folowed me and was sacared of the cars

That is awesome. I have the same thing but with 5 of my 10. The second I walk into the run I pull in a chair and instantly they are on my shoulders, legs and arms.

When I open up the run for them range the yard they will not leave my side.

Wow! I wish I had that problem with my chickens, but alas, I just have that problem with my human children.

I bought 100 chicks for meat birds. When they got to 3 weeks old, I moved them out to the chick house in batches of 25. One of the chicks from the last batch crawled up on my foot, yelling. I'd set her down on the floor, and she'd climb back up and start climbing my PANT LEG! (These chicks were all brooded in large brooders in my mud room, without a WHOLE lot of individual attention, just good care). Well, Chiclet became a house chick...I brought her back in. For the last 8 weeks she's been my near constant companion. She rides on my shoulder, even in public, she drinks diet Coke out of the can and iced tea out of a glass, tastes everything I eat when she's around, and sings herself to sleep sitting up under my chin. She goes to bed at 10 p.m. in her brooder box (time for a new chick cage!) and is just GREAT fun. I wish you as much joy with your chick as I have with my crazy little Chiclet.

Get your chick a couple of chicken buddies so she can hang out with them instead of with you.
