I haven't a clue, so don't take my word for it, but i would think that there would. E to much calcium in it for the chicks. Chicks dont need calcium until they start laying. Theres quite alot of calcium supplements in layer feed and i do know that too much calcium could damage kineys and other things.I have 7 2 week old chicks. I ran out of chick starter food. (I know bad move on my part) I haven't had a chance to get to the store to buy food due to my work schedule. Is it safe to supplement with layer feed for a couple of days?
no they will not be able to process all that calcium supplementI have 7 2 week old chicks. I ran out of chick starter food. (I know bad move on my part) I haven't had a chance to get to the store to buy food due to my work schedule. Is it safe to supplement with layer feed for a couple of days?
Extra calcium for 2 or 3 days won't do anything to them. It would take months or even years of excess calcium to build up to the level where it'll cause organ damage.no they will not be able to process all that calcium supplement
