I know chances are still slim.

He has a name: Little Cheeto. He is still the same, but wiggling more and peeping some.

The only problem- He is not pooping. I can tell his belly is starting to stick out. I have tried to wash his behind with warm water (like they do with other animals), but nothing...

I'll keep washing his behind, but is there anything else I can do?

ETA: I just looked down in my shirt- and there was a creme colored poop

That made me feel good that he's pooping some.

I had to put him under the heat lamp for a couple minutes while I ran out to feed the horse.

I mixed up a fresh container of the mush and the sugar water....

So sorry. I had two that died the same way. I have a third that seems to be recovering. I started putting antibiotics in the water, and that seems to be helping her, as well as a slurry of chick starter and cooked egg yolk, plus some yogurt. I wish someone who has had experience with this sort of thing would chime in so we could learn what to do next time. I also posted about my chick, and received some helpful advice, but no one who said - Yes, I've experienced this and this is what I did and it worked. Thank you for filling the little ones last few hours with love.

I am so sorry. My little one died as well. We decided she had some type of stricture that did not allow the nurishment to pass. They have a failure to thrive. Mine was a wk old and had not grown. The others have doubled in size.

I am so sorry for your loss! I have learned the hard way mother nature knows best!!!

I had the same thing happen to one of mine. I had 53 chicks. He was over a week old! He did the exact same stuff. I tried everything! Now they are all over 5 weeks and all doing great!!!! He was the only 1. Im sorry I lost him! But All the others go out to the pen in a couple weeks. I miss the lil fuzzy butts! BUt they are feathering nicely! Can't wait to see how they react to the grass. LOL

Good Luck and God BLess!
