Chick hached on day15!!!????!!!

Hello !!

15 days ago i started the incubator and now at day 15 one of the eggs hatched and the chick is healthy

How is this possible ?????
Temperature range from 35-37

The egg probably already started developing before you put it in the incubator.

Where was the egg before you set it? How old was it?

Maybe somehow it was getting enough heat that is was able to start incubating without your knowing. I had an egg hatch on day 7 under a broody because of the outdoor temperature had started the process for her. And she would turn the eggs like she does when she lays, I guess that was the only reason it hatched early.

I started the incubator a week after collecting the eggs and the weather was hot ,,,,so you guys may be right afterall

Fascinating. makes me wonder if eggs could be incubated without an incubator.

I think the hot weather helped the eggs to start developing a few days before incubation

Ive been hatching eggs for 4/5 years and i never had a chick hatch before 18 days of incubation
