This poor chick has been through so much & is really hurting. Chirping and pushing leg out as if to take pressure off abdomen and bum. Eating egg yolk mixed with starter crumbs and drinking water. I mixed a little sugar back into water tonight hoping it might help her go potty. Is she just constipated? Can someone please help me to help her? Giving Nutridrench about 4 tiny drops on tip of beak per day.
I applied a homemade ointment with zinc, coconut oil, shea butter & aloe vera gel to soothe her irritated bottom. PLEASE HELP! SHE'S REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE!!

Thank you very much. I'm trying hard to keep her going but I have very little experience with chicks and no experience at all with a sick or injured chick! It's pretty scary really and this little girl is really giving me a lot to think about and to try to figure out.

Yes, her tummy and her bum and her chest also are all distended. I think that her inability to stand is causing additional problems. She was constipated but she passed several tiny, hard poops during the early morning and then had a really big, thin poop. I hate to have to bother with her already sore bum, but I have to clean it off of her so using warm water and cotton balls.
I've been stressing a lot about how to help her all week and have received some awesome advice that's helped me tremendously.
This one has an amazingly strong will to live! She's a courageous little thing. Everything she's endured...it's as humbling as it is heartbreaking to witness.

My apologies..I didn't mean to ignore your question. I'm not positive of her hatch date, but I got her 5 days ago on Monday at Tractor Supply. She had been there a day or two. She was in one of the cattle troughs they use for chicks with quite a few others and by the time I saw her, she was in pretty bad condition. I took her as a kindness, but I didn't think she could possibly survive the day.
Another very nice lady here gave me some wonderful information about a chick chair and ways to help chicks with various types of leg problems. I am going to fashion her a chair today. I don't think her tiny body can take the continuous pressure from laying down. With a sore bum, it's not easy to work out, but it's certainly worth a shot. Please remember her in your prayers. I call her Henrietta.

She might be suffering from mushy chick disease (omphalitis) and most chicks do not live. I would keep her vent and umbilical area clean and dry. Here is some reading about it:

Thank you so much for the information! I am new to this entirely. I have had chickens and ducks over the years but not many..not for many years anyway. I have raised a few chicks, but never have dealt with anything even in this ballpark. Probably almost anyone there would have been better suited to help her, but it seems that the good lord gave me the opportunity to try. I surely have came to love the little gal. She's touched all our hearts so much this week.
I'll absolutely read this information although I pray it's not the problem. I'm better equipped to help if I know what I'm up against.
