Chick hasn't made any progress since last night!

This chick pipped yesterday, and broke the hole open wide last night. He still hasn't made any more progress! He peeps really loud every once in a while and and does jerky head motions like he's trying to zip but he misses the shell. The egg he is in is kinda small. Could he not be able to pivot to zip? When should I help him? I really want this baby to live. It's a lavender Orpington!

I have mine about 30 hours. I endings up using a toothpick to start breaking around the shell. He was very week when he came out. Had just a couple blood veins left. Drove me crazy waiting. Wish I would have waited a couple more hours. He is fine today. Had a littlebump

On his butt. Was not quite ready to pop out. It has air to breathe now. Find something to do and maybe help it out before bed.

I capped the egg and it appears the chick was shrink wrapped! I applied Vaseline to the membrane and detached the dry part. He should be fine now!
