how far back is the chick missing the beak if its to far back I fear that the chick may not make it.
It will not be easy for it to eat/drink but chicks do sometimes surprise you with the way they adapt to a handicap.

Your poor baby chick. I am so sorry to hear that. I currently have a chicken named Fuzzy Bum who was attacked by a dog, and she doesn't have any of her top beak left. She just has a bit of her bottom beak. Honestly, I didn't know if she was going to make it or not. But she was a fighter! We had to tube feed her for months. Now she eats oatmeal and eggs She is a special girl that requires extra work, but she is worth it
Since it is a baby chick, I would not suggest tube feeding. Try making a soggy feed that is all mushed up. Without a top beak, it will be extremely hard for her to pick up pieces of food. But if you make a mash (Mix warm water with the chick food) Then hopefully your chick will be able to pick it up, and get some fluids in her at the same time. Hopefully everything turns out okay! Keep me updated! God bless! Heidi

An update on our chick with the broken off top beak....it is doing VERY well. It's been eating and drinking like a champ and growing. She will be fine...thankfully.
We also have a chick that hatched a couple weeks ago that has a broken/dislocated....uh, hip...or... I don't know. It cannot stand up. It has one good leg, but the other side of her leg...just won't cooperate. She still gets around....but man, we feel bad for her. I did think about putting her down as I don't want her to suffer....but she amazes with her will to survive with her disability.
Gotta tell ya guys...we have two amazing chicks. One with a broken off top beak and one that cannot stand....but these two have a strong will to survive and we just couldn't put them down. Hopefully they'll be with us for a long time to come.
As for our chick....well, she didn't make it unfortunately. Don't think it had to do with her beak though. We actually were losing about 1 chick every two weeks....I have no clue what was going on.
We have about 15 chickens and turkeys that survived and are doing very healthy. Have not yet integrated them though with the rest of our adult flock.
I am so sorry to hear that :'( wow, that is not good. Did the chicks show any symptoms of not being well? Or did they just suddenly die one by one? Once again, sorry to hear about your losses
