Hi I have a chick that hatched and was initially attached to the shell with a cord and some clumps of what I initially thought were its insides. Since then it has broken off from the shell but still attachef to a lump of flesh, I think it's just membrane and plan to cut the cord once it's dried. I just wanted to post here in case anyone had alternate ideas? The chick is chirping a lot and lively, sometimes gets caught on its back when it was in the incubator but has since been moved to the brooder for more space. Any thoughts appreciated!

Yes I was going to suggest letting the cord dry up, then it falls off. If the long cord is still connected to the egg, I try and separate the shell off, because dragging the shell around pulls on the inner belly button area. Try not to clip anything close to the chick.
