Hello! This chick hatched Friday morning with this red bulge coming out. I’ve kept her in the incubator for two days, all day Friday all day Saturday and put her inside a cup to keep her from moving for part of that time. Today I went to put some Neosporin on it per someone’s advice, and I noticed it had what looked like dried yolk around it. I dabbed it with warm water and ultimately kind of dunked her booty in the warm water to see if I could get it to break up and come off. I was able to unwind it from the red bulge and it fell off. Any advice on what to do with the red bulge? Someone in a different forum mentioned that I could take a Q-tip and gently push it in which it seems like it could do that. Or do I just leave it alone and see if it falls off? Other than that this chick seems happy and healthy.

So sorry nobody replied to you.

How is your little chick? I would have thought it would just absorb that, but if not, I would have suggested to try a small dab of Preparation H. I had a chick with a prolapsed vent and it helped. I hope it's okay!
