There is this one egg I have in my incubator and it has just broke the first part of the shell and I’m wondering will it completely get out of its egg at day 21 ? Is it normal for this to happen

21 days is really just an "average" or guide for chicken egg incubation; in actuality, chicks may hatch a day or two earlier or later. Were your incubator temps on the high side? That can cause early hatching. If the chick is zipping already, it could emerge as soon as today.

No it is not zipping it has been the same for 5 hours. It hasn’t poked the membrane fully and it is cheeping, the incubator was kinda always either exact temp or below so it’s really weird I hope it will be out by Tom morning

My Marans chick hatched on day 20, and the breed is supposed to be late hatching (generally around 23 days), made a big mess trying to break out in a hurry and hurt itself on getting out in less than 4 hours.
Bantam breeds are supposed to be quicker hatchers, mine started chirping on day 20 under mama hen, on day 21 morning there were two chicks and all the eggs were cracked, on day 21 evening 4 chicks, the two slow coaches were out on day 22 midday.

Ok so that’s chick hatched and she is beautiful but there is still two eggs that have to hatch it is now day 21 and they are not hatched. Last night I saw them moving and one was really moving inside the air cell but today there is no movement and there is a little red stuff around it’s beak ( I have not opened them yet), I’m just a little worried because the one chick will be lonely for quite a while, thanks!

I just put one in water to see if it would move but nothing should I poke a hole in the egg where the air cell is or no?

Does it have to move in the air cell or will it move at all? If it isn’t moving then is it dead?

I would just leave them in the incubator for a couple more days. Were the eggs started at the same time?
It will or it wont hatch. It is not going to hatch faster by putting it in water.
I assume your one chick in in a brooder now. If no more eggs hatch, you will want to find a source for baby chicks to get him a friend or two.
Good luck!

I put it in the water to see if it would move but there is none and yes there is one chick in the brooder but tom is day 22 so hopefully it will hatch :fl
