chick hatching problem

i had a bantam modern game chick start to hatch yesterday at around 11:30 it made the first little crack but hasnt made any improvement since then and its now 11:43 the next day . its hasnt made a sound . Is it dead or is this normal . andy info or help would begreatly appreciated . thanks

24-48 hours is not too unusual for the chick to rest before hatching. This is especially true for birds that pip early and rest longer. If the humidity is high enough in there, and you still see movement, I'd wait till later this afternoon before intervening. Good luck.

well. i read the article and i started to chip away the shell and the chick wasnt moving so i ripped the membrane and the chick was dead and the yolk wasnt fully developed so i dunno what whent wrong
