And while it was fun to be a chicken mom when I was a kid and teen, it isn't so much now. This baby (not even 24 hours old) chirps very loudly and incessantly unless I hold it. I tried to fob it off on one of my kids, and it wasn't having it. So I rigged up a paper towel and T shirt to hold it so I could cook without getting pooped on and have my hands free. But I have to be out of the house all day tomorrow. I can't tote a chick along....I'm carrying a baby most of the time!

How do I get this chick to imprint on the other chicks? I have it in a brooder with an Ecoglow and 2-3 small Silkie chicks, so I know it isn't hungry, thirsty, cold or alone. The Silkies have been fine with it so far,

I recently had the same issue and had to raise a little one since the broody would not take her. I found a heating pad (low) with a fuzzy blanket made her feel like she wa snuggling with me.
I also just took her with me everywhere too. I used old cloth diapers andkept her in small purse. I am a sucker for a needy baby

It was quiet this morning until the kids messed with it, and now I have to carry this bird around! We are moving some furniture and things today.
