I had a hen hatch out chicks. When the chicks were roughly 30 hours old mama took her babies outside. One couldn't figure out how to follow her, and I found it dead in the box that morning. I went to pick it up and it wasn't dead, it was barely alive it was opening its mouth but the body was completely limp. I ran it inside I heated it up and after about an hour came back to full health. I nurtured it until it was healthy enough to go back with mama. The chick was with me about 12 hours. When I went to give it back to mama the baby chased me out of the coop screaming! I took it back inside and I realized it imprinted on me... Other humans it doesn't care about. If it can't see me it screams and chirps loud! I tried again to put it back with mom but mom didn't want it, and the baby wanted me. So now I have this chick living in my house with me and it thinks I'm mom... Anyone else have this happen?

That is really sweet. I've noticed that the babies that are hatched from incubators are more attached to me when i introduce them to the coop. Keep that baby until it is bigger and then it may find a good spot in the pecking order:) Good Luck!

Luckily it's summer break! Im 16.. This poor chicki is in a box next to the bathtub while I am showering and it's just chirping up a storm haha
