Chick is bully and hurting the other

I have two chicks that hatched about 5 and 4 days ago. The first one hatched well and is quite strong. The second got shrink wrapped and 30 hours after it piped was given a little help hatching then took an extra day to be strong enough to stand. I have them together now and the first one is constantly pecking and stepping on the second. It’s getting bad. I’ve hatched chicks several times before and have never had this problem nor seen such an aggressive chick.
What should I do?
Can I separate the chicks?

Well if the pecking is really bad and causing harm to the smaller chick them definitely separate them.
