Chick is itching excessively!

My 9-week old rooster has begun itching himself quite a bit - to the point that he falls down when scratching himself. I'm not positive (as it is late, and I could be reading into things), but he might be lethargic too. I'm worried!

Any ideas? Thoughts?

IMMEDIATELY check him for lice and mites. Move his feathers aside and look at the skin around his wingpit, around the vent and around the head and chin. Spray with lflea/tick spray, wash with flea/tick or lice shampoo, dust with sevin or permethrin dust or at least dip in vinegar (until you can get any of the earlier suggestions).
