My black sumatra chick Ozzy Punk keeps jumping into walls. I'm sorry this is literally my fourth thread in twenty four hours, but I'm worried she's hitting her head and could get hurt.
She stands on the heating pad and jumps as high as she can, rams face first into the brooder walls and falls down. She's fine and keeps getting up, now she's jumping from the top of the feeder. I just got my chicks yesterday, they hatched Monday, she's been doing this since i put them in. I'm not super worried because she seems okay and i read that black sumatra chickens don't handle confinement great, which i wasn't worried about since my grown up flock free ranges i didn't even think of the brooder.
She's also a little escape artist. I put them all in the box they were shipped in earlier with the lid closed and she managed to push open the lid and squeeze out. I grabbed her and they're all home now but I'm just wondering if she could hurt herself and if maybe i should put down more paper towels where she lands to help cushion the fall.
