Chick keeps one eye closed.

I'm new to hatching and raising chicks. The chicks that I have hatched are all doing well; eating and drinking just fine. However, there is one that has one eye closed and sometimes stays away from the other chicks. Like I said before it's eating and drinking fine.

I've wiped the eye with warm water but it still can't quite seem to open it all the way and the eye seems to water afterwards.

Any thoughts?

How is the little one doing now? I had a chick that used to keep both eyes shut and they would get sticky as well. I wet a q-tip with warm water and wiped them clean daily for a few days before the problem cleared up. It's possible your chick has something in the eye that is bothering it and cleaning it may help.

Maybe chick got pecked. Happened to one of mine recently. She was better in a day with no intervention.

They're eye is open and not stuck together anymore, however it is still a little dry and is still not open all the way. I will keep cleaning the eye with a q-tip. Thank you for the advice
