Ok, I have 15 under 2 week olds, most of whom are about 1 week old at this point. This morning when we were checking on them, my 7 yo commented that one of the chicks was being sat on by the others. I thought it was my tiny one who had pasty butt, she likes to cuddle under the others. But no, it was one of my marans..she refuses to be upright. I tried checking her legs for breaks, can't find anything. Checked her butt...nothing. I have her seperated now, and she's leaning up against the side of the brooder. I checked her crop...and it seemed a little hard..but not terribly, and not really different from the others...HELP!

I don't know for sure - but most often, when it comes to chicks in wierd postures the advice given here is to start them on polyvisol (without iron) baby vitamins. You can get them at the drugstore (or grocery store). Do a search here for polyvisol (or poly-vi-sol) for dosing instructions. It won't hurt and may give you some time to get advice from someone else.
