I searched the threads but didn’t find what I was looking for. New chicken momma, so please bare with me lol I have 5 chicks who are currently 5 days old.

They are all eating, drinking and being little bullies to each other. But one of them, despite she’s eating and drinking occasionally she sits under the brooder/heater by herself. I thought she just had her fill and wanted to sleep like chick babies do. But She just layed on her side right next to the feeder while her sisters were eating, which totally freaked me out. So I gently nudged her and she popped right up and is eating with her sisters. Do they just decide to randomly nap wherever the feeling strikes them?

I’ve noticed some clear watery poops with white in them, but otherwise normal poops. We had a 70 degree day today so it was hot for me in the house, I thought they may be hot. I turned the heater off for 30 minutes and they all perched on top of the heater bunched together so I turned it back on. I have corid powder and nutridrench on hand. Should I treat them to be safe? Should I be worried about her? Can I mix the corid, electrolytes/probiotics together in a new water batch?

Just keep an eye on her. She's probably fine, but when chicks get I'll, they go down FAST.

We were all new chicken parents at some point, and we've all been worried about chicks. I thought my chick was seizing when I saw her dust bathe for the first time!
🤣

Inside the house in a box? I don’t have a light on them. Just the “brooder”
yes inside the house in the brooder box. My daughter called me freaked out last year because a couple of ours were laying on their sides and one was "twitching" Yup they were just dustbathing/ sunbathing in the brooder. haahaa.

PS the brooder is the "box" etc that they are kept in. what are you using for heat? a heating plate? or heat lamp?
