I have a 1 week old chick that seems to like to sit down. She is active (when she is not sitting down) eats and drinks no problem. Sometimes she will even sit down in front of the food dish and eat sitting down. She does not have pasty butt and doesn’t mind being held. When she sits she stays alert and bright eyes and just looks around. Could she just be a lazy chick or should I be concerned?

I have seen this in our Swedish Flower Hen flock. Even as nearly fully-grown adults, two cockerals preferred to eat while 'sitting' in front of their treat bowl. I never did see either of these two 'dance' or 'scratch' at the dirt either (but I'm not out there 24/7!).
Both were average, ordinary chickens...sadly, neither made the cut to be roo-of-the-year, but not because of this behavior. So I cannot say whether the issue would have been genetic or not.
