Hi all!

A chick has just hatched out of the incubator and is quite rambunctious, bumping into all of the other unhatched eggs and rolling them around... will this affect the eggs in any way? I will move the chick to the brooder once it is dry, but as for now I guess I just have to watch it flop around on the other eggs..

Thanks!

I would leave it. I just hatched some chicks last Sunday and the first one did the same thing and the others hatched just fine. I also read that having a hatched chick will encourage the others to hatch.

How many of your chicks hatched out of how many you had? (Aka success rate..)

It was a trial run with a new incubator and I got 3 out of 4. The 4th one wasn’t fertile. So I pulled it once I figured that out.
