I have a three week chick that was fine and then two days ago is not able to walk. It's legs are completely behind it. I don't know what happened - I found it like this - when I found it it was gasping like they do when they are about to die- I slowly gave it some water and I wasn't sure if it would even make it over night- I have been giving it liquid baby vitamins and water it won't eat the chicken feed but I gave it a hard boiled egg and it ate àlot - I tried making a sling for it to keep it up right but didn't have much luck with that -
Any ideas as to what is wrong? I hatched these chicks out myself- no other chicks with these symptoms

sometimes chickens will refuse to eat for a time and become to exhausted to move on theyre own, this sounds like one of those cases. a severe lack of protien. give your chick some greek yogurt as well wich will help a lot to regain strength and make digestion a little easier for the poor thing. hope this helps

Yes I agree with the giving them yogurt it has helped many chicks. They love the hard boiled eggs too+ I think it is still a little wobbly and my hope is it will regain it's strength. I have moved some of the other chicks out of there in hopes it doesn't get trampled.
