chick not eating or drinking very much!

hi there.

one of my baby chicks that hatched 4 days ago is not eating or drinking on its own. I am having to give it water thru a lil dropper and put food on my finger and up to its mouth forcing it to eat. does anyone have advice on what i should do?

I'm brand new to this but from my research it sounds like keeping it warm and doing what you are doing is the best you can do. Have you added electrolytes to the water? If not, I've read that electrolytes or sugar can be added to the water to perk them up.

yes i have added electrolytes. i will just see what happens. thanks

Try mixing water and crumbles and feeding that to your chick. If it's not interested, add more water so there's a layer of water on top of the mush. Then you can dip its beak, and hopefully it'll get the idea, drink the water off the top, and start pecking at the mush at the bottom.
