I have 6 chicks that hatched on 12/24, so they are a little over a week old. Everything has gone great, hatching went great, etc. (These are chicks I hatched in the incubator, by the way). I noticed that one chick was acting strange this morning, so I moved it into a separate brooder. It seemed to be weak, not walking very well, not eating or drinking much. I showed it the water and finally got it to drink. Since it seemed to not be able to walk correctly, I assumed maybe it was a vitamin deficiency. I drove to the store to get some rooster booster vitamins and b12. By the time I got home, which was about an hour and a half later because I live in the middle of nowhere and had to drive far, it was not doing well at all. I noticed it looked like it was "star-gazing" and I read that means a vitamin deficiency. I tried to immediately give it some b12 via a syringe, and before I could get its beak open, it passed away in my hand.
All of this to ask- was I correct in my assumption that it was experiencing a vitamin deficiency? It all happened so fast. I put some rooster booster in the remaining chicks' water just in case. Please let me know! Any advice is welcome.

Sometimes they're just weak chicks, & die because of some congenital issues, or are FTT(Failure To Thrive), & die of that.
