I have 5 gold lace wyandottes that are 9 days old. 4 are really growing but one is not. At all? They were all the same size when I got them and was told they all hatch on the same day. The 4 are starting to get wing feathers and some little tail feathers but the 1 doesn't. It seems to eat, drink, and poop ok. I did separate it because it seemed to get pushed around but not picked on. Just kinda stood there until the other ones bump in to it then It will move. I've been giving it yogurt and hard boiled egg a little every day. It often moves it's neck weird to look at things. The others don't do that. I would like to hear your opinions.

are u sure it aint growin? it seems like if it wasnt it would ve already died,

just give it time i would guess, unless its sufferin?

I had a Sp. Sussex chick that didn't grow. It lived for about 3-4 weeks until I moved them (I had 25) out to the garage. She died within 3 days of being moved. I think they were huddling up at night and that and the change in temp was too much for her.

How would I know? It seems to see us when we try to pick it up. Thats kinda funny that I ask, I'm a braillist for the school district. Co-workers might look at me funny if I told them I had a blind chick.

I have a blind chick (3 weeks old)........never would have thought it. The poor little thing is half the size of its siblings and just kinda pecks sideways like it is looking, turning its head sideways. It can find the food and water but it is weird how it walks up and bumps into them before it realizes that hmmm...could this be something to drink or eat. Plus it can't find anyone else when I let them run around unless it hears them. Keep an eye on it and you will soon know for sure.
