(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new. April 5th 2024. Two day old rescued chicks, their mom was killed by a predator on our property. She was a stray from a neighbor who couldn't keep her in the pen.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 2
(3) What breeds do you have? I think they are Leghorns, but not sure.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They are cuddly and smart.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Photography, being creative, music, poetry
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am 65, soon to be 66. I work as a Hospice support Aide and love my clients. I am also a photographer but that is more hobby than work. I have a senior dog, a stray cat and 2 roos. I am a Christian. My family members all live in different states now.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I Googled for information and this site came up first. I needed advice about the chicks we rescued at 1 AM in the morning and this site was very active with information.
