I posted these in another thread but I'm so proud, I had to do it again. . .

This is our first hatch and we couldn't be happier. I have another dozen in lockdown and two chicks working their way out of the pip and zip stage.

Rhode Island Reds is what I was told. We were given the eggs to hatch. I think I see a comb starting on one of the browns which leads me to believe a rooster.

I don't know.

They all came from the same farm. I guess we will see as they get older.

Those are adorable. The brownish chicks are RIR but the white ones aren't. I think that there is a white version of the Rhode Island breed so maybe that's what they are.

My hen hatched 3 chicks last week and I think I am wearing out my welcome with my emails to my friends and family sending the pics of the chicks...hahaha. I have 2 bators full--one will be ready to hatch this weekend and the other will be the next weekend. Whoa...I better go out and get another memory card for my camera!!!

Of the dozen in the bator, I have another two that are walking around and creating a ruckus! They are brown too. It's so strange the coloring. . .

The red ones look like the Rhode Island Reds I've seen, but can't ID the lighter ones.

Here's a couple of photos of my PR's, showing comb development. Cockerel in the center, pullet on the right.
