Chick pipped day 18???

I went to put my eggs in lockdown and found someone already pipped!!

I had the lid off for a minute or two. I put him in my backup bator and cranked the humidity.

He squeaked a lot when I picked him up but now that he is in the new bator he isn't making any noise and now I'm freaking out.

Did I kill him by exposing to cold temps?

Ahhhh thanks in advance anyone who chimes in.

If he is squeaking he's not dead, DON'T open the bator again

Okay I wont touch anything. I hear chirping from my other eggs. If I had temps too high and they are hatching early, is there anything I can do or do I just sit and wait?

Years ago, I had a broody hen with eleven eggs. Seven chicks hatched, but I guess the others, were just too "pooped to pip" Such is life I guess.

As long as the humidity is up, sit back and just watch. It shouldn't affect stuff too much.

So he pipped but he just keeps pecking the same hole he already made. He is chirping and poking his beak out over and over. I think I see pale yellow, unabsorbed yolks in the egg still, looks like still absorbing. Will update with any more info!

What day did he hatch? Mine are on day 18 and one also has pipped! I thought my temps were half a degree on the low side this whole time and was expecting late. Eeek
