First time owning chickens since I was in middle school and I need a little help with one of my chicks!
One of my little meatie chicks (6 days old) is pooping on itself... it's not runny, it's just sticking to below its vent and irritating the skin. I've cleaned it off multiple times and it keeps happening. Its crop isn't full but there seems to be some food in there. It keeps trying to clean itself off and it's making the irritation worse. I separated it and it is miserable, however it's not acting sick besides picking at its irritated bottom.
I put a very small amount of apple cider vinegar in its water.
A vet friend said it could be enteritis but I thought that would involve diarrhea?
If someone can give me a clue what to do, I would really appreciate it. I don't want to lose one of my chickie buddies!
Thanks very much!
