One of my chicks seems to have a weird beak. The uppper part is curved, and the bottom is straight, so there is a gap. She still seems to be eating and drinking okay, but will this affect her later?? She will be 4 weeks old tomarrow. It seems to have gotten worse from the first time I noticed, about 3 weeks ago. Here are a couple of pics, it is ard to get a good clear pic, but I did my best!

It seems that she has a twisted beak. She can live a happy and normal life and chickens that have it usually adapt to their situation. I've never had a chicken with twisted beak, but I've heard several times that they will learn to "scoop" feed into their mouth as opposed to pecking at it.
I have also heard that it will become worse as they grow, but it will reach a certain point when they are done growing. At that point, you can trim or file her beak like you would a fingernail to help her eat more normally.
She probably won't like you trimming her beak at first, but once she knows you aren't hurting her, she'll get used to it.

I just want to make sure she will lead a good life. As long as she eats and drinks okay, I will do what ever i can for her to make her happy. Thanks, i feel so much better now.
