Chick Sexing question

If they are a sex link, you sex by the color of the chick - no need to look at wing feathers. As for the wing sexing method, I believe this works better on some breeds than others and in my experience, works better with day olds than older chicks.

Feather sexing (the relative lengths of the wing feathers as they first come in on 2-4 day olds) ONLY works if you have chicks from a PARTICULAR CROSS, with particular genotypes of male and female parent. It is not a breed or sexlink thing, therefore, it is a matter of having set up the correct particular mating.
