I have a two day old silkie chick that is currently sitting on its bum using its hocks and wings to walk. Ive tried splinting the legs together with vetwrap however the chick really couldn't move at all and after 24 hours there has been no improvement. Ive also tried placing it in a cup as ive seen suggested but the chick just slips straight onto its bum ane hocks and makes no effort to use its kegs to push. When lay on its back it wriggles its legs and you can feel strength when you push on them it pushes back but can't wrap its claw around things. The chick is loud and eating and drinking okay. I am giving it sugar water and electrolytes to help it. Any suggestions for a treatment i would really like to help it.

How is your little one doing? I have no experience with treatment of leg problems and I'm sorry I can't be of any help. Being loud and eating and drinking are good signs - so the little one is active and has got energy. Perhaps some extra vitamins could be helpful for your chick.

I am also wondering how your chick is and if it was ever able to walk? I have a chick with the same infirmity. Also done the hobbling and the coffee cup but, it seems to be something not fixable?
