Hello,

My chicks went to visit a preschool yesterday and today I noticed one of them had really runny poops, and seems to be moving a little slower. I suspect it’s a chick sized tummy ache, because I also sent some treats.

I have Save a chick and nutridrench on hand, should I give it to the whole flock, just the one chick, or would it be better to wait and see?

I suspect coccidiosis. Get all the chicks started on Corid 9.6% liquid solution. Dosage is 9.5ml per gallon of water for 5 days. Make it fresh daily. Do not give your chicks Sav-A-Chick nor Poultry Nutri Drench while treating them with Corid.
Feed them unmedicated chick starter only, no treats.

2 weeks, they had scrambled eggs
I'd recommend not feeding any treats whatsoever until the birds are full grown.
And then make sure you keep the amount of treats less than a tablespoon per bird per day.

Thank you for your responses, upon further research I think she may have just gotten a little hot. I turned off the heat lamp and she is doing much better, she also passed a regular solid poop. I will definitely make sure I am very careful with treats from now on!

What you saw was probably a cecal poop.

At 2 weeks, unless they're outside in cold weather, you probably don't need added heat.
