Chick Sounds like a Songbird

we must determine if it is a roo or a hen-to-be. we live in town. if it is a quiet roo, it will be a keeper. This little one might get some cheater points. yeah, i think you're right.

Hey mine all sing it's like I have a box full of canaries. I thought it was normal. Pne in my group was more needy than the others and peeped demandingly but now its singing like the rest. When they go to sleep they whisper.

My SILKIES make so many different noises . They are 5 months old today. I have one that chirps like a big baby except when the one above her in pecking order pecks at her. She is the cutest splash silkie and such a loving personality. I hate that someone has to be low "man" on totem pole. I have a buff one who is the leader and I have mentioned her on this blog ,she actually has a conversation with me no one else in my family. It is at night and when settling down to bed she will say the same sound back and forth we go . It is non threatening just very unique sound and just to /with me. I have a black one the largest in the flock who cackles when she queastions safety/ and when I sneeze. They all mumble at night like talking and plotting and planning something to get me wondering.I am entertained non stop with this mob...............

is it one leader speaking to another? that is neat. i've not cultivated a close relationship with any of our's yet. i'm very close to a collared lizard, Tom. odd, i dislike reptiles. on a backcountry hike one day he just up and jumped into my hand and been riding on my shoulder for two years. around town, stores, everywhere. it freaks even collared lizard breeders out how he is so devoted or attached, or just likes my shoulder. how knows.

R: When they arrived 5 months ago I took one look at her and she kept watching out for me on every visit to brooder. It was strange . I knew she was special just had a feeling we would be"tight"if that is a word for it.She is special and very silly as when she sees me she tries to climb up the pen?!? I have a nice black one that joins her now and she actually "whines/whimpers" She is not in any pain she seems to want to be in on the attention I guess. She is a mumbler and always looking to get my food that I offer before the others by passive aggressive means....lolI would not trade my SILKIESfor all the teac in China and I so love my tea...lolI never in all my life received such gratification in just going to be with my chooks!

My white Silkie that's around 3-4 months copies my whistles. It's so sweet. It also bok bok ba GOCKs when I yell at the kids.

My older Silkie hen has never made any sounds like a real chicken. Just Silkie noises. Grumbles, and grunts, and purring, and chittering, etc. I adore the way Silkies sound!

My buff cochins honk all day... even with their beaks full. They honk because there's food and honk because they can't get to the food. They're my honking machines.

My brown leghorn sound like Morse code, earning them names of Morse and Code.

My little baby easter egger chirps like a song bird. Has anyone experiencedown that?
