Chick Squaring Off?

Ok so....two and 1/2 weeks ago my buff orp hatched 12 chicks...after being on vacation I have helped two to survive since their mother is obviously terrible at her job. Now (at 2.5 weeks) they square off...like the rooster I have does with my dog. Is this an early sign of roosters? I know you cant tell til later , but im just wondering.

At that age, girls and boy will both square off. It is just practice for deciding who will be dominant later.

My chicks, (5 weeks) are still squaring off since they were two weeks! Usually a baby roo has really thick legs. And they grow their feathers slower that pullets.
