When do I make the switch from chick starter to hen feed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Layer feed has too much calcium for birds not of laying age. I suggest game feed or a feed that has everything but the calcium for your little guys. A lot of people don't really notice any problems but my feed store has "pullet fee" that is layer sans Ca, it's about $20/ton cheaper so it makes even more sense to use it.

Edited to add:

I'd start feeding layer feed about 4.5-5 months of age. Pullet feed (if an option that is) after 10 weeks.

basically yopu only need grower for them when coming off starter
then feed grower till they start to lay
then use layer feed
some birds lay later in life than other
just be sure to mix 1/2 and 1/2 of two feeds so they get used to the grower okay

when feeding the layer give them oyster shell
and if giving whole or cracked grains give granite grit also
email me with any questions
