I agree with MissPrissy. The feed may have been bad too. I would get them some new starter or starter/grower. Medicated is ok. I have started all of my chicks on medicated starter. I have only lost one chick, but it was sick when I got it. They need the nutrients in the starter for proper growth. The medicated is sulfa based. It inhibits the growth of cocci so the cocci can't reproduce.
