Chick still hasn't hatched after 21 days?!

Hello everyone! looking for advice... all the eggs that made it to lockdown had hatched EXCEPT for one egg. It is day 21, and this one has not pipped, but I cant tell if it has internally pipped. I candled it, and it is still moving, but i'm worried if something is wrong with it. Is this normal? Should I make a pip in the egg around where it's beak/head is? I've never had alive chicks not hatch after 21 days, or not hatch 24 hours after all other chicks have hatched. Please help! Thanks!

Are you able to post a picture of the air cell when candled? I've hatched ducklings and don't have much experience with chicks, but I often have a hard time telling if there's a pip too. A picture would probably help others say if it has internally pipped or not.

as someone who has had many hatches I say this is normal Its normal for chicks to hatch at day 23 and rarely at day 24-25
I wouldn't be too utterly concerned

It's hard to say whether it's time to make a safety hole or not. Is it a large egg? It might just need more time. I've had eggs hatch on Day 23, though that's rare and they usually needed some help.

I'm sorry, My phone won't let me upload or post pics, although I can see that it's head is positioned I think toward the air sac, so i'm hopeful it will pip soon.

That's a relief! I feel a little better, I will continue to monitor the progress of this chick.

I have that article bookmarked, so I will read over it again before I decide to assist, I think I will wait until tmrw to check again and see if it has made progress by internally or externally pipped.
