I had some eggs in the bator and two of them were having trouble hatching I think because of humidity issues. They pipped and just never could get around inside the egg to zip. I left it for 28 hours and than I decided to help it a bit. I started chipping away at the shell and leaving the membrane alone. Here is what it looked like when I got done. This is already after a day and 1/2 trying to get out. Another pic at the bottom of the baby out.
I kept the membrane wet and kept it from drying out. The next day I went to check on it and it was still alive and trying. I decided that I would try to remove some of the membrane for it so it would be easier to stretch out of there. It started bleeding right away so I left it and put it back in the bator with more wet paper towel to try again. And it did! It tried and tried. For two more days it tried. Not getting anywhere but a little more rip in the membrane but not much. This morning I went down there and didn't see any movement at all...not peeping nothing. I thought it was dead. Went to get a bag to put it in and when I reached to pick it up it peeped at me! Scared me to death thinking I was picking up a dead egg! SO NOW I was SURE I had to get that baby out of there blood or no blood. I began with more wet paper towel and an eye dropper. Dripping water everywhere but the face area (didn't want him to drown) I got my tweezers and began pulling gently at the membrane hoping there would be no blood and there wasn't. He was moving around enough in the egg by now to show me what was stuck and what wasn't. I got a sissors and cut away membrane I had been able to pull away. 45 min later I had a CHICK! Who was finally free! Perfect looking!! I gave it water with vits and electrolytes in it right away from an eye dropper and he took a little. He doesn't look great but he has energy and kicks when i pick him up. He is also pooping now. The only thing he won't do now is eat!!! What do you feed a weak chick who won't eat crumbles????????? Anyway, here is my baby after I got him out! Isn't it a beauty!!!??
