My 7 year old daughter knocked a board off a pile on top of 2 chicks after she’d been told to stop chasing mama and babies around. One was dead and the other was under the board on its back but still alive. I don’t know how long it had been there until I found both chicks-Mama had already abandon them so I took the one still alive and put it with the others. It was slow, couldn’t keep up with the others and seemed to just not know what was going on. It had moments of being “normal” just slow, but it wasn’t eating or drinking but cheeping very loud. I left it with them overnight and miraculously it was still alive but still lagging and not pecking the ground like the others. I took it from the coop, gave it drips of water with a plastic syringe and it seemed to perk up. It’s strong and squirms like it should when you hold it and it cheeps loudly. It started eating as soon as I put it inside in a box with a light. It’s like it was deprived of oxygen or got knocked on the head with the board. What are your thoughts on whether it will live and what else can I do for it?
