Hi

I picked up a batch of chicks from the feed store and the smallest one concerns me a bit. It looks as if her legs are a bit farther apart than the other chicks and when she walks she sort of waddles like an older hen. They are on paper towels now, but of course I have no idea what happened to her before she made it to my house.
It's not severe like most cases of spraddle leg I can look up, but I am wondering if she could have an injury that I should be treating before it becomes a permanent deformity? They are approximately 5 days old now. Toes look fine, no other obvious issues.
She is eating, drinking, pooping, but less active than the group. I have seen her run a few steps but she is just a bit more wobbly overall.

Should I intervene or is it nothing? Opinions welcome!!!!

She may have had a mild case of spraddle leg, or she could have been positioned weird inside the egg. I just had one that couldn't even sit up, she laid on her back almost the entire first day. It took her a really long time to get out of the shell and I think her postion caused her to be kind of "stuck" that way for a while.

I had to straighten her toes out too, and I also gave her paper towels to walk on. She's fine now after a day of her corrective shoes and some physical therapy!

Most likely your chick will be just fine as she continues to walk and get stronger each day.
