Chick Vaccines

I'm glad you are asking the question. It shows you are trying to do the right thing by learning before you vaccinate.

Depends on who you talk to because we all have different experiences, how you manage your chickens, and what is prevalent in your area. Many people, based on experience, don't do anything. Many people, based on experience, vaccinate for different specific diseases. Some people vaccinate just to be super cautious. A lot depends on what you are going to expose your chickens to. If you are going to take your chickens to the county fair or show them, you would have a different requirement than someone who never exposes their flock to any other chickens. If I showed chickens, I would definitely vaccinate against fowl pox, for example.

I'd suggest you call your county extension office and discuss it with them. You can find them in the phone book under county government. They will know what is prevalent in your area and will have recommendations for your situation.
