Chick w dislocated leg

How do I treat a one week old chick with a dislocated leg? It keeps it pulled up but it dangles when you pick the chick up. Laying on the unaffected side, occasionally trying to move around

Welcome to the site. How is your chick doing? Can you post some pictures of her leg and how she is holding it? Any idea how it may have happened?

She died after a day and a half. Held it up close to her body and hopped using her wing for balance. The leg was turned in and dangling so no joint connection, just ligaments and muscles. I am guessing she got stepped on or jumped from too high, which would have only been a couple inches.

I’m so sorry. She may have had some internal damage that couldn’t be seen, also.

Leg injuries can be tough to treat and often times unless we seek vet care the best we can do is offered supportive care such as restricting movement.
