I have a chick that's almost a week old that's walking on her hocks. I did some research and I think it's a riboflavin defecentcy. My problem is that tomorrow is easter and all the farm stores will be closed. Will she be ok till Monday? Should I go to the drug store in the mean time and get something? And if I do what should I get?

Do you have any B Complex, PolyVisol (without iron) baby vitamins, or Nutritional yeast in the house? They all contain B vitamins. Other good sources of B2 riboflavin for a chick are egg, buttermilk, and plain unsweetened yogurt. Any supermarket or drug store will sell riboflavin, but in my opinion, the easiest way to give it is in the water, by using a water soluble vitamin such as Rooster Booster Vitamins With Lactobacillus or other brands of poultry vitamins. Most will have mixing directions for 1 gallon of water.

Unfortunately I don't have much. I'll whip up some egg in the morning and run to the drug store for the time being. Monday I'll go to tsc. Thank you!
