Hi all!

I have 11 chicks one of which is the Cream legbar (cinnamon) pictured here.(sorry its black and white its from my camera in their brooder) 3 of the chicks including cinnamon are 12 days old and the other 8 are 4 days old she is the only cream legbar. Kind of a silly question but I haven't found much info online about weight milestones.

Not really worried about anything, more just curious of people's experiences as in all my research I dont think chicken obesity or weight really at all, comes up much outside of meat birds.

Not trying to body shame my ladies lol but is Cinnamon here a fatty? 😂 She just seems so much more ROUND than everyone else including the 2 other breeds her age. She was sleeping on her side and watching her rolling over to get up made me notice how tubby she is comparatively. She eats and drinks like normal, normal poos, normal walking gait etc.

Just want to make sure I'm not somehow overfeeding her or if some hens are just more porky than others or just caught her at a bad angle haha

When I weighed my 12 day olds this morning they were all 2.5ish ounces, cinnamon was 2.9 ounces.

You should always allow chicks to free feed. I doubt it's fat at that age. It probably just have thicker down.
Yeah their feeder is always in there and kept full, you're probably right she may just be fluffier with a full crop. Curious to see if anyone chimes in on weight milestones though more out of curiosity of how quickly they gain weight as they age and feather out. Thanks!

Some are just chonky. I hatched a Barred Rock cockerel this year that was the fattest chick I've ever seen! I can only imagine he burst out of the egg like the incredible hulk because there can't have been room to unzip the normal way :lau Sometimes he looked like he was about 60% crop. He's the same size as his half-brother now and both are still hefty but that's just the breed.

Look at this porker!

You could keep an eye on her when she's older but at this age, so long as she's keeping active and seems healthy, she's almost certainly fine.

What a cutie!!!! If cinnamon ends up being a roo I wouldn't be heart broken since a blue egg roo means more blue egg hens but hoping shes just a porker haha!

If cinnamon is a cream legbar like you say, she is definitely a girl. Cream legbars are sexable at hatch, the boys will have a yellow dot on their head and the girls will not. I can tell by the pattern on her wing feathers that she is a little pullet.
