One of our Copper Maran chicks has what looks to be a dead toe. It’s about a week old, give or take a day or two. We picked up eight chicks total about two days ago, but didn’t notice the toe until we got home. Just in the last hour or so, the rest of the chicks have started picking on the injured one and now the toe is bleeding. Here are pictures from before and after. What do y’all think I should do? I have it separated from the rest of the chicks at the moment. I have red kote but not blue, which I know is preferred for using on poultry. I appreciate any advice y’all give me!

I would look after it medically and keep an eye on it. if it looks like its getting worse go to an avarian vet to see what they'll say. Other than that I'm sure it'll heal on its own.

Sorry about that, I guess I’ve just used to it enough that I forget to mention it for others. Any suggestions for it medical wise? I believe I have some triple antibiotic ointment that I could use. Is it worth picking up some blue kote?
